Hosting a 4th of July Party

Party Bonanza’s Party Guide

The Event: 4th of July or Independence Day. On July 4th, 1776 the Continental Congress, the first national government of the United States adopted the Declaration of Independence and declared our freedom and independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. In other words, it’s a pretty good day to celebrate.

Ideal time of the year to have the event: July 4th (this one’s a no brainer). But be sure to celebrate your independence every day. Support your country, troops and community. We are blessed to grow up in this country. I’ve served in the U.S. military in Central and South America, Europe and the Middle East. I’m thankful for having traveled the world, because it helped me truly appreciate my country and life I’ve been able to have.

Reason for the party: 4th of July or Independence Day can best be described as THE summer party, and summer party means barbecue. The only other word I love more that starts with the letter B than barbecue is buffet (p.s. we do sell great buffet and barbecue platters). Barbecues are somewhat of an American past-time. Throw in baseball, parades, picnics, and did I mention fireworks? Fireworks laws vary from city to city, county to county, and state to state, but whether you’re watching them from stadium benches, or lighting them yourself on the driveway, fireworks are an old 4th of July tradition.

Additional reason to throw the party: Party Bonanza never needs an additional reason to throw a party and neither should you.

Party Points: Make sure the party appeals to your guest. How many guests will you have? What’s your party budget? Remember…. You’re the host! It's on you to make it fun, memorable, wild, elegant, festive, or just an easy, relaxed environment and Party Bonanza has the party supplies to help you make your party exactly how you want it to be.

Party Bonanza’s Party Supplies: Ok, we don’t sell fireworks, so this is a rare time when we’re not your one-stop shop for all your party supplies. I’ll just have to make it up to you with all our other party supplies we can provide!
Now that we have the fireworks issue out of the way, let’s look at the party supply checklist and remember…think Red, White and Blue, think Patriotic and go Americana:

Key Decorating Tips:
Put out your American Flag
Bunting can go on fences, under windows, tables skirts, and can be used behind pools as a focal point
Pool: floating red, white, & blue candles
Line your sidewalk/walkway with different sizes of American Flags
Use red, white, & blue Hawaiian leis' and drape them around tiki torches

July 4th screams Americana
Show or display your patriotism with wooden or metal stars, candles and garland
Add a touch of Americana to your home by adding red, white, & blue pillows to your couches and chairs, or even your bed (this will perk up any room)
Fold red, white, & blue hand towels and put them in a basket in the bathroom or powder room

Be sure to have some Patriotic music to throw into the CD mixture

Key Money Saving Tip: When in doubt, make it a potluck barbecue. Everyone brings a dish. And please don’t forget the homemade ice cream! Homemade ice cream in July just can’t be beat, unless it has a side of homemade apple pie to go with it.

So remember…it’s a party! Enjoy yourself and your guests. Relax, pour yourself a drink, eat and above all have a good time. Drink responsibly and ensure your guests do as well because the next party is just around the corner.
